The "HOME"-stretch!

I thought it would be helpful to list the following steps to bringing Micah home. We will post when we complete each step, so that you all can just follow along with us! Please keep praying that these final steps will "fly"by!!

1. CIVIL REGISRTY - 7 to 21 business days -we are here now. This Guatemalan department is making a new birth certificate with Micah's birth first name and TIMMONS for his last name.
2. IMMIGRATION ZONE - 5 to 7 days -after they have Micah's birth cert., they will get him a passport.
3. TRANSLATIONS - 4 to 5 days - all 25 legal documents will then need to be translated from Spanish to English.
4. UNITED STATES EMBASSY - 4 to 7 days - the "Final Adoption Packet" is submitted. Once approved, they will issue our PINK SLIP!!!! and our travel date. We will most likely travel within one week of the pink slip!!

Sounds like a lot....but we really are in the home stretch now!! We will keep you updated.

WOW! So did I read this right? You get to adopt a precious lil child? Adoption is as GREAT of an experience as birth in my opinion...I have never experienced it myself (I gave birth to both of my children), but I do know people who have adopted...and their eyes light up when they talk of their kids, just as mine do when I talk about mine!

I just found your blog and let me say...I too am a Christian...it's AWESOME to find other Christian women and moms online who have blogs sharing their lives as Christians and as Christian Moms! It REALLY is AWESOME!

Feel free to stop by my site (you'll need to register for FREE first before you can post a comment...just click on the register link on the right side of the page) and leave a comment and say hello (just click on Leave Your Comment on any of my blog entries or whatever and post reply on the box that comes up). Hope to have you as a regular visitor to my site and I'll try to visit your's often as well!

We are all so excited for you guys to be in the home stretch. God is Great! We can't wait to finally have Micah home. I have really enjoyed sharing this experience with you. I know I don't say it nearly enough but I love being your sister-in-law and friend.

I was so happy to come across your blog through a link from a link. I started with the Preschoolers and Peace log linked to another and then found the link to yours. Anyway, congratulations!!! We have two Guatemalan cuties!! I remember very well those steps. My dd is almost 5 now and my ds is 3. We are hoping to adopt from Ethiopia this next time. Praying the next steps fly by for you.

I will be praying for you. For the perfect times, and for patience. I can't imagine how hard it must be to wait these last moments. I always struggle emotionaly the last month of pregancy because I'm terrible at waiting. So I can appreciate that this would be much harder.
Bless you guys, and can't wait to hear that your leaving!

You're never going to believe this. Well, maybe I shouldn't tell you this because I really DO want you to focus on your Saturday thing, but this is WAY TOO exciting to pass up:

I checked some of our dates tonight out of curiousity. Listen: we got OUT of the Civil Registry on Nov.23. 12 (TWELVE!) working days later, we were IN Guatemala. Michelle. IN GUATEMALA!!! You are IN the CR. You could get out ANY DAY, and from that point- oh my goodness!- you could be in Guatemala in a matter of DAYS! Do you even realize how close you are to getting Micah home!?!?! I could cry with joy for you. What a long journey this has been... I will be having a giant party (and sobfest) when you go. HOORAY!!! Soon!
I love you, my dear friend!
